Dr. Justin Hillman
I was born in Morton, Illinois. I grew up with a love for sports and the outdoors. I graduated from Peoria Christian High School in 1995 and then attended Bradley University for four years, graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science.
I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. At Palmer I took extra study in Activator and the Gonstead technique. I then moved to Bloomington, Illinois in July of 2005 and began working with Dr. Bly in Bloomington at Bly Family Chiropractic Clinic. In January 2016, I opened up our wonderful practice, True Health Chiropractic and Massage, with an emphasis on holistic healing. We are excited to offer the latest in chiropractic techniques: the very best in non-surgical spinal disc decompression, the DRX9000, the Pulstar, massage therapy, Doterra essential oils, and will soon be offering functional medicine assessments as well.
Post Graduate Training
Since graduating from Palmer College, I have taken post graduate training in ART (Active Release Technique), which deals with soft tissue injuries as well as advanced training with the Pulstar technique. And I have also taken advanced training on whiplash injuries from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, as well as training specifically on golf injuries. I am also currently working on my functional medicine degree.
Prestigious Back & Neck Pain Award
Dr. Justin Hillman, DC received the prestigious back and neck pain treatment award recognized by the International Medical Advisory Board on Spinal Decompression.
This distinction shows his commitment to helping patients through non-invasive, non-surgical therapies without narcotics, epidural injections and unnecessary surgeries.
Dr. Hillman and his team of professionals are committed to providing first class care to patients with the latest and most cost effective options for the treatment of spinal disc disorders. The state-of-the-art facility and effective chiropractic therapies such as spinal decompression, Activator and Gonstead technique are considered best in the area.
Outside the Office
Outside of being a chiropractor, I have a passion for hunting and working on my farm, as well as spending time with my family. I have a beautiful wife Megan, a step daughter Ryan as well as our son, Hunter.
Dr. Wayne Gudgel
I grew up on my Grandfather’s farm in Creve Coeur, Missouri until moving to Minnesota when I was in junior high school. I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science-Biology degree, then attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri, graduating with my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in December 1996.
After practicing in Northern Indiana for a few years, I moved back to Minnesota in 2002, where I practiced at the Chiropractic clinic that invented, developed and taught Activator Method Chiropractic Technique and the associated Activator Adjusting Instrument, which used the first hand-held instrument to provide safe, effective, low-force adjustments. Throughout my years of practice, I have become well versed in instrument-assisted Chiropractic treatment and I am certified in instrument adjusting technique with the Activator Instrument and Impulse IQ Adjusting Instrument. In August 2019, my family and I moved to Bloomington, Illinois and I began working at Bly Family Chiropractic where I trained and developed my skill with the Pulstar technique of computerized adjusting, along with non-surgical spinal decompression treatment.
My beautiful wife Michelle is originally from Decatur, Illinois and we are very happy to now be close to all of her family. We have two wonderful children, 7-year-old Jude, and 4-year-old Sophia. I also have an awesome 20-year-old daughter, Lauren, that attends college and resides in Indiana.
In my spare time, I enjoy golfing, bicycling and spending quality time with my family as we explore all the fun events and activities around the Bloomington-Normal community. I’m excited to bring my 23 years of Chiropractic adjusting experience to the True Health Chiropractic and Massage team and work alongside Dr. Hillman and his awesome staff!
Dr. Brent Rassi
Welcome Dr. Rassi to True Health Chiropractic and Massage!
Hello! I’m Dr. Rassi and I am a central Illinois native from Morton. I received my bachelors of exercise science at St. Ambrose University and played one-year of collegiate football. Following my undergraduate studies, I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic. During my time at Palmer, I became proficient in Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Activator, and Flexion-Distraction Techniques. I was also nominated for the clinical excellence award by Palmer staff doctors. I did a preceptorship program at The Wellness Connection in O’Fallon, Missouri and learned from some of the top doctors in Missouri. Following graduation, I spent one year practicing at Kaufman Wellness Center. I served as part of a team of chiropractors that took care of the Peoria Riverman. During my time at Kaufman Wellness Center, I became skilled in the Pulstar technique as well. I have treated infants as young as 3 weeks old, to adults as old as 96. I’ve also treated professional hockey and baseball players, even an Olympic athlete! I’m very excited to bring my passion to Bloomington and continue to help people feel/move better!
Personal Experience with Chiropractic
During my time at St. Ambrose, I became extremely sick. I was diagnosed with meningitis/encephalitis, and they induced me into a coma. I went through a vigorous recovery, which consisted of chiropractic, nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and neurology. It took a full-team effort, with only a 2% chance to make a full recovery, but I owe a majority of it to chiropractic and nutrition. This experience led me to the chiropractic profession, and I’m excited to share my passion with the central Illinois area!
Family Life
I met my wife, Megan, at St. Ambrose. We enjoy being outdoors, traveling, attending concerts, hiking, and running. We have a cute golden retriever puppy named Culver and little baby on the way! We all believe that moving your body is important to living a healthy life!
